I have found that I don't have the time that I would like to keep up this blog. So, this will be my last post here....
But, don't despair. I will still be writing, just over on Biggs' excellent blog HERE.
Expect the usual kinds of articles from me and I will still try to keep producing videos. I will just be contributing my writing somewhere else.
As always thanks for reading!

Hammerhead and Quasar!
Coming straight from Lothal, FFG is bringing the Hammerhead Corvette and Quasar Fire Carrier to our games of Armada.
These look like some really fun ships. Announcement articles from FFG don't often have a ton of details, but let's take a look at what we can find.

New Podcast Live Tonight - Boring Conversation Anyways
I am excited to announce a new thing I will be working on with some other members of the Star Wars: Armada community - Boring Conversation Anyways. We're imagining it as being similar to a radio call-in show all about Armada.
The show will be a Live Google Hangout where you can hear Biggs (from the excellent Steel Squadron blog), John, Cory, and myself discussing Armada and ask us questions through the live chat feature in the Hangout.
The Hangout will also be recorded so you can listen in later if you can't make it live, but we are really hoping for a good amount of audience participation.
The plan is for the show to go live today at 6:00pm PST.
I will post a link here on the blog later today.

Mailbag - Questions needed
I'd like to try out a mailbag post here in the near future, but I need additional questions. Post a question in the comments - anything Armada or Star Wars related is fair game. I'll write up the answers and publish them all in one post.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Vader's Kite Club
If you've been reading this blog long you know that I prefer to not fly directly at my opponent. More than anything, that is why I tend to play more Rebels than Imperials. Unitl recently, the Rebels just had more ships where the primary firepower wasn't pointed straight ahead. However, the release of the Arquitens really changes that. The Imperials have some fun new options, so it's time to build a fleet to use them. Let's see how well Vader can fly a kite.

ECM is not the answer...
In our local Corellian Conflict campaign one of the Imperial players is using a fleet with 2 ISDs. He has twice run up against the Planetary Ion Cannon when assaulting a Rebel base and come out the worse for it. The ISDs were just not tough enough to survive the assault. Which seems opposite of what you might expect.
This has coincided with the recent release of Minister Tua giving the much coveted Defensive Retrofit upgrade to more Imperial ships. I have seen many fleets using her to add ECM in an attempt to improve the durability of ISD-Is and VSDs.
This got me thinking about some of the reasons it can be challenging to play with Large base ships in Armada. The biggest of those challenges being durability. So, what can you do about that? The more I thought on what I was seeing on the table, the more sure I was that ECM is not the answer.

Are the ads annoying?
I turned on ads on this blog back in December to see if they might supplement my gaming budget a little. Turns out it may take over a year to have any real payout at my traffic level.
So, I've been questioning if they are worth it? The site is already not always the most visually interesting thing. How annoying are the ads to you as a reader?

Corellian Conflict - Turn 3
After sweeping the last round of games the Rebels were wondering if this is the week that the Empire would strike back? It was time for another turn of the Dice Age Games Corellian Conflict Campaign.

All Hail the X-Wing! - Best Escort (of Captial Ships) in Armada
After finding them a bit 'meh' when Armada was released I now love the X-wing. I think that comes from finally learning how to use them as Escorts the right way. Not for my other squadrons, but for my ships.

Video - Making the most of Gun Lines
It's been snowy weather around here and as I am a teacher, that's meant a couple of snow days. This gave me the chance to put together another tactics video. This time I share some of my experiences with using Rebel Gun Lines.

Corellian Conflict - Turn 2
We were all excited to be back at Dice Age for round 2 of the campaign. The Imperials were eager to use their newly expanded fleets to conquer more territory, while the Rebels were concerned about having to field 2 fleets with scarred units.

Corellian Conflict - Turn 1
With everything setup it was time for the Rebels to launch their campaign to free the Corellian Sector from Imperial control. Let's see how the opening moves went.
Corellian Conflict Setup
Last Monday saw the start of the Corellian Conflict at the local game store, Dice Age Games. We have 6 players that are all really excited about getting going with the campaign. I am going to be posting the progress of the campaign here on the blog, so you can follow along.
